About Us

DHU Library was officially established on 2nd April 2010. Located at Level 2 of the Student Activity Center, our library consists of three levels with the accommodation capacity up to 700 students at one time and a total of 10,000 in-house collections. The in-house and e-journals collection focuses on various subject field including Automotive, Engineering, Business and etc. Modern computer laboratories and well-equipped library will enhance the student learning process.

The objectives of the Library are to support teaching, learning and research activities in the University. Rules and regulations are required by the Library to achieve its objectives. Every Library member is subjected to these rules. Action will be taken against anyone who does not abide by these rules.

  • Only Library members and those approved by the Chief Librarian are allowed to use the Library.
  • Users have to present their student/staff card when asked to do so by the Library staff.
  • Users are not allowed to eat, drink, smoke, make noise, sleep or disturb the peace of the library.
  • Silence is to be observed in the library at all times.
  • All hand phones must be kept in silent mode.
  • Defacing, damaging and destroying library properties or any related act is considered illegal. Library members will have to pay double the cost of the actual damage.
  • All members of the library must abide by the rules and regulations.
  • Every library user has to follow the dress code of the University when entering library premises.
  • Library users are not allowed to bring in bags into the library building.
  • Library users are solely responsible for their personal belongings brought into the library.
  • The library staffs have the right to ask at any time, users to leave the library if the users misbehave/disobey the Library Rule and Regulations.
  • Disciplinary action will be taken against library users who are found with material from the library collection, without the proper authorization

Library Services

  • Only registered member given facility to borrow library items
  • Borrowing and returning can be done at circulation counter
  • Qualifications and term loans depend on user category.

  • Borrowers will take full responsibility of library materials

  • Users can renew the books twice only.Renewal can be done at circulation counter or online
  • Users can renew if there're nobody request or no reservation,not overdue and no outstanding fines

  • This service is self-service.
  • 6 computer terminal for printing purposes
  • Users must create an account from the circulation counter to use printing and photocopy facilities
  • Users can print or make photocopy in black and white color with price has been set by library management

  • DHU Library also provide online database such as ProQuest Ebook Central and EmeraldInsight for users
  • Users can access our online database via EZproxy. Click HERE to search for electronic books and online databases
  • The online databases are accessible around campus and outside campus
  • Covered with more 20 subjects like engineering,management,science and technology etc.. 
  • Include more than 100,000 titles inside the ProQuest Ebook Central
  • A total of 80,000 journal articles in EmeraldInsight Database
Library have lists of module for User Education Programme to all DHU students and staff. This programme aims to educates user with information skills to enhance their ability to identify, find, evaluate and ethically use information to become a lifelong leaner. Our aims also to help users utilize all the facilities provided by the library.

Library Facilities

  • Our open study area able to accommodate up to 700 user at one time.
  • Study area located at 1st and 2nd floor of the Library.
  • Food and beverages are prohibited inside the library compound.

  • There are two lab available in the library ; Computer Lab and Printing Lab.
  • Users can use computers and internet in our library for free.
  • There're 25 computers inside the computer lab and 6 computers inside the printing lab which are available for library users.
  • Wireless connections also available in the library.
  • Users are prohibited to use internet for gambling,playing games and entering illegal website.

  • Carrels—desk and chair for one—are located on the 1st and 2nd levels and are available on a first-come basis.
  • These carrels are available for use by students who require a quiet work space.
  • Food and beverages are prohibited.

  • DHU Library provides a designated area on 2nd floor for postgraduate students. We name it Sarjana Lounge.
  • This area exclusively open to all Masters and PHD students for study purposes.
  • There are 3 types of seating; Reading Tables, Low Tables, and Study Carrel.

  • Leisure area provides a conducive sitting spot and light reading materials such as newspapers (both English and Malay Language).
  • The library also provide an indoor games for students and staffs to fully enjoy their free time and help to ease their stress.

  • DHU Library provides a Library Cafe in front of our main entrance.
  • At the Library Cafe, theres a stall managed by Enterpreneurship Club of DHU and provide light meal and beverages such as donuts and ice blended.
  • User can also enjoy a cup of coffee from nearest vending machine with only RM1.00!

    Rules and Regulation

  • A total number of 400 lockers provided for our users to put their belongings before entering the library.
  • This service is free of charge.
  • Lockers are issued on a daily basis until closing time.
  • There are two types of locker ; Open Locker (No keys) and Close Locker (With keys).
  • To use the Close Locker, locker keys are available from the Circulation Counter. To get a key, user will need to have a student/staff ID card. Only one key and one locker will be allocated per person. User should return the key to the Circulation Counter at the same day.
  • The Library must be notified as soon as possible if user lose or have a key stolen. A RM10 charge is made for all non returned keys.
  • Do not put your expensive belongings such as laptops, wallet, and any accessories as Library will not responsible for any lost. Please bring those items along with you.

Post Graduates


1. Plagiarism checking through Turnitin is officially managed by the Resource Centre of DRB-HICOM U.

2. The process is limited only to Thesis for Postgraduate Students.

3. Each application must be submitted using the "Verification of Plagiarism Checking" form together with a soft-copy of the intended thesis.

4. The form can be downloaded from the official website of the Resource Centre of DRB-HICOM U, Verification Of Plagiarism Checking (TURNITIN) For Post Graduate Student

5. It is compulsory for the form to be signed by the student’s main supervisor with his/her official stamp. If a student has more than one main supervisor, any of the supervisors can sign the form. Applications will not be processed in the case of: an incomplete form or no signature and no official stamp of the main supervisor.

6. A FORM IS FOR PER CHECKING. Students need to submit a new form for the second and subsequent checking. The application form is VALID WITHIN 1 MONTH from the date of supervisor’s signature.

7. In the case of the intended supervisor is on leave or unavailable, the applicant must attach with validation e-mail from the supervisor. Only validation through DRB-HICOM U e-mail address is accepted. Date of the e-mail must be the same as the submission date.

8. Results will be notified by e-mail within 3 WORKING DAYS.

9. An application can be sent via:

a. Information Desk at the Customer Service Counter, Level 2, DRB-HICOM U Resource Centre
b. E-mail
i. The required information is the student’s full name, his/her ID number, title of the thesis, phone number and name(s) of co-supervisor(s) (if more than one co-supervisor).
ii. The application can be sent to any one of the officers in charge:

10. Documents accepted by the Resource Centre are in the form of doc., docx., and pdf.


1. Do I need to come to the Resource Centre to collect my Turnitin result?
You do not have to. Result will be informed to you by e-mail.

2. Will the Resource Centre sign any form to prove the checking was conducted by the Centre?
No. E-mail address used which is sent through a Resource Centre staff is the evidence that the checking is done by the Centre.

3. Can I send on behalf of my friends or group?
Yes, if the application is complete.

4. Does the Resource Centre charge any fee for Turnitin checking?
It is free at the moment.

5. Can I check the originality of my Thesis with the Resource Centre before I proceed with a formal checking application?
No. Checking with the Resource Centre is official and you are required to submit a form before doing so.

6. I do not have Turnitin account. How can I check the originality of my Thesis?
a. Students can apply through their respective supervisors or the Postgraduate Centre. The Resource Centre only create a Turnitin account for academicians. Each academicians is responsible to register students under their Turnitin account.
b. Once a students are registered under their supervisor’s account, Turnitin checking can be done at any time. (Subject to the settings made in Turnitin system by supervisors)

7. If my supervisor is on leave, can I get a signature and stamp from the other officer?
No. In the case of the intended supervisor is on leave or unavailable, the applicant must attach with validation e-mail from the supervisor. Only validation through DRB-HICOM U e-mails are accepted. Date of the e-mail must be the same as the submission date.

8. After I received the results of the plagiarism checking (Turnitin), what is my next action?
Students should discuss with their respective supervisor(s) for the next step of action. The Resource Centre’s responsibility is only in issuing of the official Turnitin results.
